SYMMETRY REDEFINED

Throughout most of my life, I always had the urge to achieve symmetry in everything I did. I needed the sense of balance to preserve my peace of mind and silence the voices in my head. But all that changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After my mastectomy, I have had no choice but to tame the beast of compulsion. Thanks to the image that confronts me in the mirror everyday.

Now I am mastering the art of finding gratification in whatever comes my way. Symmetry can be subjective after all.

FREE RIDE

Hospital protocol required that I be wheeled into my hospital room during every chemo session, even if I could very well walk.

INTERMITTENTLY WAITING

I have lost count of the hours I have spent waiting for results in hospital lobbies, doctor's clinics and laboratories.

If I am fortunate, this will be my life for the next ten years.
